Harwell Goodwin Davis was born November 23, 1882.

Harwell Davis, attorney and former president of Samford University, discusses his life and the famous Knox case which resulted in the abolishment of the convict lease system.

Recorded in Birmingham, January, 1977, as part of the University of Alabama in Birmingham Oral History Research Project.
